The most maddening experience with MCU for me is that it is so thoughtless, so utterly devoid of any kind of theme or point that theorising about it – my second favourite fandom activity – is kind of like trying to build a skyscraper on the ocean. What’s there is pretty much exclusively what you bring in.

And I don’t want to blame everything on the MCU, but the fact that our entire pop culture has revolved around a black void of meaning for over a decade kinda explains why Game of Thrones and Rise of Skywalker ended up the way they did.
