personally i chose to read them chronologically, with the exception of the bby geralt story, which i read as a flashback after little fishie, and i felt it worked really well that way! it was cool seeing jaskier becoming Less Of A Mess that way, it sets it up for that being a theme later nicely imo!
Ha, I should reread in that order sometime, as i of course read them in the order I wrote them… well, actually, that order is somewhat deceptive because the multi-chaptered works were interspersed but are ordered by the date their first chapter was published, which isn’t really representative!

Ao3 will let you put specific individual works in multiple series, so you could make a series for each sequence and let the reader pick which way they want to experience it.
Oh, that’s a thought. But I think as a reader I’d be super confused thinking this author had several series and wanting to read them all but then being like… this is just the same works over and over. I’ve done it before where I had works in two series at the same time, because all of them were in the same ‘verse but some were in a different continuity, so I had a sub-set series within a series, but even that I wasn’t super good at maintaining… and IDK if any readers found it that useful.

As someone currently making my way thru the series, what i would appreciate most is if MDS was listed first and everything else was chronological? If that makes sense? Bc I want to start with where the story started, emotionally, but after that I just want to know when things are happening.
Yeah, that seems reasonable to me too– like, MDS is the First Story and I named the series after it and sticking it in the middle seems odd.

sometimes other authors who published out of chronological order leave it that way but put a list of the works in chronological order in the ao3 series summary so they can have their cake and eat it too!
THIS!!!! I think this is the solution. Thank you I am going to do this right away. That is exactly the way to handle it!! I might also stick a line explaining that into the summary of Meet Death Sitting, since it’s the first story and I probably don’t need to leave the Update As Of 3/07 announcement in the summary, LOL.
