It’s just the end of the individual story, The Ancient Sea, which had gotten quite long.
I will certainly write a couple of little oneshots– I have one complete but for final editing, and a second near-complete but for minor rewrites. And I have another early-timeline story I’m working on slowly, too.
There is a sequel, possibly, in my mind, which was of course the first thing I wanted to write, and for which I seeded throughout the earlier series a number of things I wanted to tie up in it (Jaskier’s family, Geralt’s use of Axii on Jaskier in Fugitive, the spy ring Yennefer has on Jaskier that she has only used for things I could’ve made other Plot Devices for), but I may or may not get to it– it really depends on what kind of turn Current Events take, particularly in my individual circumstances.
Thank you for asking, and so nicely!
Relatedly I’m trying to figure out how to put the series in order– should I do all of the 1263/64 Timeline stuff first, then the flashbacks in order, or should I put them all in calendar order even though that’d put the first-published one smack in the middle, or what? Can’t decide. At least I should probably put the deleted-scenes-style oneshots next to the main stories they’re referencing, but. Hard to say!
I mean, having Meet Death Sitting in the middle of the MDS series wouldn’t be awful, right? But that means you’re starting off with the Vesemir POV story. And oh yeah I have that other Young Geralt story I’m currently picking at, so… Gosh, there’s not really a right answer, here. I guess really thinking it over is a good start.
