That is an impressive voice!

Now I'm all curious about why this guy decided to sing as a clown in a baggy costume, rather than in any of the kinds of clothes that are more usual for contemporary music performances. <goes to look...>

OK, apparently the guy is a long-time performer who's presented himself a number of different ways, over the years, and the Puddles persona has gotten the response he liked the best.

Also, he's reportedly 6'8" tall, 55 years old, and when performing in a conventional suit, he looks like this. My guess is that he kind of decided to lean into not looking like a typical pretty guy. (I'm strictly average height, but can relate to the rest.)

FWIW, I like his singing on Bridge Over Troubled Water even better than on The Sound of Silence. Note that it's billed as a Tribute to Coronavirus Frontline Heroes, and they feature in the visuals.
