I showed this to my BFF and said “I had to see your reaction” and she, a former calculus teacher, was instantly like “ok but that multi-point thing down in the middle there, I mean, that’s a thing you use to–”
and I was like “don’t tell me”
and she was like “OK but like, we invented this math and then realized we could talk about things we’d never been able to talk about before and I just–”
“DON’T TELL ME,” I said, “NUMBERS WERE NOT SUPPOSED TO BE GIVEN NAMES,” and she was like
“fine fine. But. That thing there is–”
“FORBIDDEN KNOWLEDGE”
