Plenty of people have commented that “Her Sweet Kiss” is suspiciously similar to “Jolene”, but no one seems to have combined this with the increasingly frequent commentary on how the singer of “Jolene” is clearly in love with Jolene. So - as time goes on, Jaskier keeps adding verses to Her Sweet Kiss getting more and more explicit about exactly how sweet that kiss is. Eventually Geralt hears it and is like… did you… did you “kiss” my ex, Jaskier?
And Jaskier’s just… well I’m also your ex at the moment :) so I can “kiss” :) whoever’s ex I please :) I’m not saying I did of course :) but if I had :) I probably would have kissed that lovely birthmark on her upper thigh :)
