i met Doctor Friend in undergrad. the second month of undergrad. it was his eighteenth birthday. he was lying under a coffee table in my friends’ suite.
I said to my friends, indignant, “What did you do to this poor child!” They laughed. I bent down and asked his prone figure, “How much have you had to drink?!?!?!”
“Two beers,” he said.
I later found out this was a lie, he had only had one.
He uh got a lot higher tolerance in med school. I don’t let him mix me drinks anymore.
He wishes he was a spy. No, his doctor stories are awful. One time we were visiting and he got home from work (sometimes he works in the ER in a major regional trauma center) and stared at the ceiling for a bit and then was like “I can tell you this because there was more than one so it’s not a HIPAA violation but tonight I saw not one but TWO patients who had been shot directly in the dick” and I was like “does that happen a lot” and he was like “apparently!”
