I finally finished all of the Witcher season 1 and having seen the Witcher Out Of Context posts all this time I assumed that in-context various bits of it would make more sense but

I mean no

What was that line, Triss? What did you mean? I don’t fucking understand. Is Vilgefortz to be whose new daddy, and in what sense? it was a super throwaway bit that didn’t get borne out by any events. 

(It’s cool I don’t need to know)

(aw fuck I Googled him to be sure I was spelling the name right and god damn it why did I do that don’t do that)
(just. don’t. the very nature of the results that come up are probably a spoiler for season 2.)

Other conclusion: I did not like the costumes in literally any of this except Yennefer’s dress at the Battle of Sodden which was apparently entirely made of cords? like? ?? ? nonsense but fantastical! with a boob window! thank you!

anyway, my final review: it wasn’t Good but it doesn’t have to be Good and I want to watch the next season.

Yes, I rather liked him and wanted him to stick around, he was both scenic and charismatic. I have a crawling suspicion he wasn't actually killed and we'll see him again and not like him so much, but it's hard to tell; I wasn't sure what he was doing, toward the end.
