Warning spider pictures (swipe to see): our morning bus wait was made more pleasant by discovering two magnificent spiders decorating the verge of the herb garden. First photo, some borage bedecked with dew; next is a grass spider in its characteristic funnel web, and last, with videos,is a really glorious orb weaver of some type, araunica diadematica or such, really huge and terrifying I mean beautiful.
(I’m kind of scared of spiders and have been working hard to be not so afraid by looking up their names. Spiders are comrades!)
Last, bonus pic: I thought about texting Dad for advice on how to make my wood stove chimney more stable, then I looked up from my phone and he was here, and I had only to ask the question and he and Zack had found the necessary tools and screws. Took longer to walk there and back than it did to fix the problem. All better! (at Laughing Earth)
