I just did a thorough editing pass (last night and this morning) and the fucking story is now 14,000 words long. (Yes, of course it grew. Even in middle school teachers were always like “oh overwrite so you can cut when you edit” and I have not succeeded at doing that one time in the history of ever.)
I swear, when I read through it, it’s just like all the wonderful, brilliant, breezy 4k stories I’ve read, and it seems to me like it’s about the same length, and it’s all well and good, except for some reason it takes me longer to read it– well of course it does, at this stage it’s still going to be editing passes, right, so it takes a bit longer, and then I do the word count thing and it’s like
that can’t be right.
I’m going to paste it into another program and double-check. It’s not that long! There’s only like three scenes.
Ah fuck. AO3 agrees with gdocs.

No, you don’t. Nobody’s going to see a 14,000 word oneshot with no plot and think yes that I’ll click on that and read it at work and rec it to all my friends.
Nobody who’s actually got GG+ cups is happy about it.
I wish I could get put on breezy reclists!
I wish I could wear backless fashions! I wish people made cute lacy strappy bralettes that actually fit me!
