I'm invited to a wedding, which didn't have a proper invitation, it came via a text message thing and a link to one of those RSVP-coordinating sites.
So it didn't have any info about a gift registry for the couple.
...
I'm just gonna get a card and put a check in it, yeah? That's the acceptable thing to do, right? I mean... there's no registry. Or maybe there is and I just don't know how to use the site well enough to find it???

Ugh awkward. definitely a check. right???

A check is always acceptable.

I feel like there are people who feel funny about *asking* for checks or *being asked for checks* (obvs this varies considerably by culture; in many it is Totally Normal And The Thing To Do.) but no one feels bad about receiving cash. It's usable for whatever they need!

A cheque is always acceptable, as is a gift card to somewhere any home owner can use.

Those type of sites do normally include a link to a registry but also if the couple in question is more on the mature side they often don't bother with a registry because they have all the basics already.
