Date: 2019-04-21 12:05 pm (UTC)No, I know exactly what you mean, and when I was like, "I'm gonna fic this" and then I'm looking at the book like "argh I cannot ctrl+F you to find out which character said this line" and it was just. It was like we were living in the TWENTIETH CENTURY.
Something about the age of the book, I think, means that if libraries ever owned the ebooks they've expired by now-- publishers give libraries horrible deals for ebooks and it's a damn shame, I wish they'd do better. It's not the libraries' fault, but they never have enough copies of any ebooks I want.

Date: 2019-04-21 06:35 pm (UTC)I don't think my system ever ordered this book in e-version, because I remember hearing some buzz about it when it first came out and I think I would have tried it much earlier if it was in Overdrive. My system tends to focus on mysteries and thrillers in their ebook ordering, and some romance - the stuff they know they'll get their money's worth out of. I'm just happy they'll often buy the kind of big thick splashy YA that's on my TBR list.
