I'm not thrilled with what I'm writing instead, but I'm definitely like, you know, onward, to the plot, we're not going to fuss so much about whether this is reasonable here. Sometimes I'm like... the alpha draft reveals far too much of what I think and not enough of the characters. But this is amusingly not driven by my id, so. There's that. (The heroine is thinking slightly wistfully about babies. This is. Not me.)
I actually popped in here to write a really short shitpost-style entry about something that had struck me and now I can't remember what it was, so.
Oh! All my electronics are... like... not out of batteries when I expected, today? So I didn't have to recharge them when I expected? It's weird and I'm wondering if that's some kind of... I don't know, could a witch bless you with your batteries staying charged longer than expected? If so thanks, random witch, let me know if you want the firstborn I'm not actually having or whatever. What if you could trade potential firstborns? Like, if you never wanted kids, like, here, have my never-borns, cool!
Probably it would be an unpleasant and painful process to have them extracted so never mind, let's just forget that whole train of thought.

Date: 2019-01-10 12:00 pm (UTC)So like. If one needed a firstborn or something, like. I mean, I'm not having one, so they can't have a real one, but I'd give them a metaphorical one or something.
If they were gonna do something cool with it like anti-hex all my electronic devices' batteries.
For real though my smartwatch has been begging for a recharge every 24 hours without fail for months, and yesterday it was at 50% at the 24-hour mark. I mean, I paired it to a different phone, so it might be under different operating pressures, but IDK, that seems dramatic. So I charged it for like, 20 minutes anyway? And now, 10 hours later, it's still at 60%. It's weird! (This thing's supposed to go at least five days on a charge but it's not only old, it's also by a company that doesn't exist anymore, so.)
