argh the glass is wiggling out of my huge obnoxious custom kitchen window, which is original to the house and so is the putty in it (house is from circa 1955), and it’s to the point where it’s clearly no longer structurally sound and the whole fucking pane is going to fall the fuck out, but all I can find online is how to repair windows that seem predicated on the notion of removing the entire sash from the frame and working on it while it lies horizontally.
the sash doesn’t come out! or at least, i haven’t been able to figure out how to get it out anytime in the last 12 years. Do window sashes come out??? am I the dumbest adult alive? I don’t fucking know.
Also I’m only in town occasionally, I’m here until Friday and I gotta go again, and my fucking dude who actually lives here is just sort of like “i dunno don’t touch that window” and I’m like IT NO LONGER HOLDS AIR OUT ALSO IT IS 45 OUT AND WE NEED TO CLOSE IT and he’s like I dunno, why don’t you look up what to do, and I’m like I TRIED AND I DON’T UNDERSTAND.
i get that as an adult i have to figure it the fuck out but I barely fucking live in this house and I don’t fucking know what to do
so guess what, I guess I’ll just ignore it exactly like Dude is, and when it falls apart and it’s a fucking emergency, well, we’ll both be upset, then, won’t we.
I don’t know, bro. Apparently you can take the sash out of the window and then you can fix it. You can’t fix it with it vertical like that. I don’t know how to take it out. I don’t think it comes out. I think we’re just fucked. Maybe we can tape a garbage bag over it. I don’t know. I definitely don’t know why this is my problem.
