I love your yurt life posts because it’s just so unthinkable to live in an unairconditioned structure in summer in Texas and have a pleasant time during daylight.
Ha, I’m never in the yurt during daylight. A component of the thing being a manageable temperature is that I’m in a shaded grove with this thing.
But you are not wrong– I could not do this in Texas and I would be miserable if I tried. I can do it in the Eastern Woodlands, for part of the year, and that’s how that goes.
I can’t imagine agricultural labor outdoors in a climate like Texas, though. I just can’t. I know the majority of agricultural labor in this country takes place in southern climes and I really can’t fathom it.
