Word is going around about this one site that’s mirroring all your tumblr pictures and I am going to hazard a guess that in order to remove yourself from this site you have to send them an email or in some way give up your email, correct?
Because if that’s the case, that’s been done before, and the point isn’t to mirror images. It’s to get your email. That’s what they’re after.

i’m literally 100% certain that it goes and stripes your site for images once you’ve typed the URL. It generates that page by you going and typing your URL in there.
It’s doing this for pageviews, and we’re giving them pageviews. Because now you’ve generated that page for them, and then you go and type your URL into a box and send that to them, and now they have confirmation that that handle is in use and active.
I have no idea why, I just– literally every person who goes and checks is like “omg! i’m on there!”
well yes, because you just put yourself on there.
