labor-intensive manual crosspost from pillowfort.io:
I’m still trying to ponder how to use this space. The more everyone posts the more everyone else will read, I get that, and I also get that most everyone here is also on Tumblr so there’s not much point just crossposting stuff. But meanwhile, almost nobody is reading, here, so there’s not a ton of incentive to write things here that you want anyone to read, at all.
Anyway– I’m mostly spinning my wheels in life in general, so. I might as well spin them here for a bit.
I’ve been traveling too much and haven’t put things away afterward and now I’m down to 0 USB cables to charge my phone. The one I was using is now in Dude’s car, I found it there, but there was one there before that I probably stole so I shouldn’t steal mine back unless I can find the one that was his. There was one in the bag I bring back and forth to work but it’s not there now, so I must have moved it elsewhere. Where the fuck did I move it to?
I don’t know.
It’s all a mystery. I can never find my goddamn shit. I need to organize my things but it’s so bad at this point I don’t know where to start, and so I don’t know what to do. If I see the word “decluttering” one more fucking time I’ll scream. All the advice about ‘decluttering’ is assuming that you want to throw everything away and live a minimalist life and listen, I don’t care how rich I am, I’ll never be that rich. That is rich people bullshit and I want nothing to do with it.
I would like to throw away the stuff I don’t need anymore, sure, but the rest of the world calibrates way too generously on that. “This thing is no longer in its original packaging, it’s now garbage.” Argh. “Go buy a new one, but don’t leave it in its package because if you do it’s clearly not something you need, so throw it away, but if you take it out of its package, it’s now garbage. Any item not currently in use right at this moment is just clutter and should be disposed of, to be replaced when it is next needed.” Listen: No.
