Oh, I wouldn’t mind at all! Is it going to be a true thing in-universe in your fic too? That’s hilarious!
I should mention that in the longer work, Poe finds out about it and it’s a lot less funny from his POV! So as it stands, it’s kind of light-hearted and cracky, but in context it’s actually sort of upsetting. But that’s kind of why I separated it out, because on its own it was cute. So as long as that won’t, I dunno, harsh the mellow of your story– and like, if it’s something that causes some angst in your universe’s take on it, that’s okay too. (I mean, it’s also totally chill if it’s light-hearted in your ‘verse; Poe’s character is such that he could perfectly well be pretty sanguine about that sort of fame. Within the context of the work I’m doing, he is decidedly not, but that’s largely because of other stuff I’m doing to him within the scope of the work.)
I love the idea of something like that crossing over into someone else’s interpretation. Let me know how it goes! :) I’m just super glad you asked, I think i’d be weirded out to encounter it in the wild, as it were, without having known it was getting referenced. But being pre-warned, I’m pretty keen on the idea!
Let me know, and I can discuss privately if you want to talk in any more depth, or see the draft of the chapter where he finds out about it, or anything (I dunno, in case you wondered how the heck I made something that cracky into angst); I just wanted to answer this publicly in case anybody else had any interesting thoughts about, like, meta-fanfic, or whatever you’d call this.
