A customer is on the phone pitching a fit because yesterday when he called, he told us he had need of a particular service, and we gave him the price for that service over the phone. When he came in, he actually needed a totally different service, which is more expensive. The item he had was not what he’d described over the phone, but rather something much less common that would need custom work to complete.
He thinks we should give him the price for the service we quoted over the phone, even though what he had wasn’t what he’d said he had. He also hadn’t warned us that he didn’t know what he had; he spoke with confidence, but the confidence was utterly misplaced.
Lord, if I am ever like this, just go ahead and take me, ok???
