AT&T wants Congress to draft a net neutrality law.:

copperbadge:

Now that states are passing their own net neutrality laws, big telecom is starting to realize that the last thing it wants is to have to comply with fifty different regulators at the state level. Federal-level net neutrality is at least a safe, stable bet, which is why AT&T has started pushing for it and, if they’re smart, other companies may follow.

HAHAHA I almost want them not to get it, though, and for every fucking state in the Union to come up with a bewilderingly different maze of shit regulations that now the greedy telecom giants are going to have to have entire departments to manage. SERVES YOU FUCKING RIGHT YOU FUCKING FUCKS. You thought this would be easy? HA HA HA you underestimated just how fucking stupid New York’s laws are, and you don’t want to lose that market, do you???

I don’t *really* want this, because they’re greedy shits, and they’ll find a way to fuck people over with it, and it’ll wind up with like, New Hampshire and West Virginia no longer have any telecom providers, and Delaware has literally no laws so every company is technically based out of there so they can loophole fucking everything, and nobody’s website can be displayed in California because there might be lead in it by their regulations, and New Jersey accidentally banned cat .gifs when they were trying to outlaw cockfighting so now the entire Internet is fucked…

but God, what a fantasy. Abolishing Federal Net Neutrality costs the telecom giants billions of dollars. *wistful sigh*
