[This is in response to my tags on the previous post, where i mentioned that poor Farmsister can’t find a menstrual cup that fits well after giving birth to Farmbaby.]

Ooh I’m looking that one up. Hm, it seems to come in the same two sizes as I’m used to seeing. She tried getting a new one in the larger size and she’s found it just won’t– stay. It’s not like things are– bigger than they were, they’re just not– there used to kind of be a bend, and there just really isn’t, so there’s no spot for it to sit in like there used to be, she says.

It’s understandable that the things aren’t returnable but it’s annoying to buy them, because they’re not cheap, and then not be able to use them. I think she managed to give away the last one she tried, at least, to someone she knew. I mean, I wouldn’t want– from a stranger– but silicone is totally sanitizable, and honestly. Anyway.

The other thing that gets me– so I’ve been using menstrual cups since I was like, 25 or so, so of course i bought the Size 1 (Under 30 / Never Given Birth) one, and then I used it for years until I felt like the rubber was degrading, and bought another one, a new one, silicone but the same shape, I didn’t size up even though I Was 30 Now because c’mon, and I was right, that was fine, and now I’m thinking of replacing that one too because it’s old, but–

well, I’m 38 now. The old one still fits just fine. So I feel like I should get another one that’s the same size/shape, right? But I’m like– not even close to 30 anymore. So clearly I should… size up. But. Like. I don’t really use that whole… business… for anything, really, certainly nothing on the order of baby production, so it’s not like it’s changed size or shape particularly. And the small ones can be sort of uncomfortable, so I don’t really want to try a larger one and find that it’s even more uncomfortable.

Anyway.

RebelKate was doing a “free menstrual cup giveaway”– it’s $20 for shipping, domestically in the US, so that’s, a lot, but, ok. I decided to go for it. (I bought some other stuff, so at least the shipping charge wasn’t just for that one thing.) It’s a set of 2 cheap Chinese menstrual cups, one in each size. I just checked and they’re now selling those same ones, but for less than the shipping on the giveaway offer– I don’t know what they charge now for shipping. But anyway.

I ordered that, and they come in both sizes, so I’m going to try and see if the smaller size still works for me, and if it doesn’t I’ll use the larger one, and if it does, I’ll give Farmsister the larger one and see if it fits her; I don’t know that she’s tried lately, and it’s been four years now, so. If she has any luck with it, I’ll recommend the Lena to her.

Fun Factory sells a 2 pack of menstrual cups for $40.

That gets you 2 sizes. You can also find them on various sex toy websites. It's my first cup so I can only look at pictures, but it seems to be a different shape. Though I now see they're out of stock on the home site ...

Which is where I ordered mine from.
