We bought Chita hairball medication, administered it once. She threw up the next morning, on schedule. (She’s been throwing up at like 12-hour intervals, very weird.) But then she didn’t throw up yesterday evening, or this morning. So maybe… IDK man.
She likes to greet me when I get out of bed, and follow me into the bathroom and watch me use the facilities. This morning during that process I made a noise that startled her, which was so funny it was a real struggle not to laugh so loud I’d wake Dude up. Like, sorry cat, that was my nethers, but like, what do you expect, you’re supervising me on the toilet, things are going to happen.
Anyway. It was hilarious, if probably gross and TMI to mention. Sorry.
Now the background noise of my morning is Dude attempting to Reason with her while she tries to sit on everything he loves.
Last night I made two dinners– I finally made butternut squash soup out of the leftovers of the squash I roasted along with the chicken on Saturday (and also with half the broth I made from that chicken carcass), but I decided I was going to bake bread to go with it, despite knowing that bread takes fucking two hours to make, so. Somehow I wasn’t prepared for this to take until 8pm, but I managed. I also made a charcuterie board of appetizers to tide us over, featuring a Weird Cured Sausage Dude’s Mom Gave Him For Christmas (we celebrated with her on Sunday), an apple, and some of those mini wax-wrapped Babybel cheeses, which we own so I can use tiny chunks as pill pockets for the cat.
And while the bread was rising, I put together a lasagna to bake tonight along with the other half of the bread dough. So. Hopefully that bit of Overachieving will serve me well. (The lasagna features half a bag of frozen spinach too. I hope that’s adequate. I ran low on sauce. Whoops. It’s probably fine.)
There’s still a quart of broth left from the carcass, and all the meat I pulled off, so I’m going to make rissotto sometime this weekend. (There was a little more spinach left, and we bought freeze-dried mushrooms at Asia Mart that it turns out are pretty good? So that should be tasty.)
I found a good website that shows me what Cyrillic handwriting looks like. I knew the written versions of the letters were significantly different from the printing but holy shit.
Should I start a standalone WordPress blog, or like, Tumblr sideblog, about this Kyrzygstan thing?? I almost feel like I should. I’m trying to find other peoples’ because it’s so hard to get info about this, and thinking, man, I could do better than this, about the ones I find, so. Well, we’ll see, if I get off my ass about it.
