oh so last night as I was sitting in the theater, there were some trailers, and sure enough, there was the trailer for a A Wrinkle In Time, and I have to confess I haven’t been excited for this movie because somehow I never read the book– it was always on the list and someone else either had it checked out already or whatever, I just, never did, I read Tolkien and Susan Cooper and moved on too young to Anne McCaffrey, I missed Madeleine L’Engle.
But. The trailer. Wow, that was so magical!! And the sweet little Black girl was magical. And so, since my phone was still in my hand, I tweeted a, on reflection, pretty banal positive observation– I honestly nearly cried in the trailer, it just looked so awesome, but I was trying not to have my phone out too much so I was brief–
and then this happened.
Yes that’s really Ava DuVernay, the director of A Wrinkle In Time. I was like, !!!! but. What do you do? I don’t know! I didn’t even hashtag it. I’m glad she’s clearly seeing a lot of buzz about the movie; I followed her and looked thru her feed and there were a lot of these likes and replies and things, she’s clearly just been taking it in and enjoying it and I’m so delighted to see that.
