… Well, I don’t really feel the need to respond to that bit of anon hate, since it rests on a premise that I said something I actually didn’t, but that’s always a little unsettling.
(Did I describe anything about TLJ as “hot”?? Not… to my recollection? What? Listen I love shippy fic as much as anybody but TLJ was a deeply not-sexy movie.)
So, anyhow. I’m sorry people are upset about things, I’m always sad people can’t just enjoy things. And I do get that it’s not just a case of haters being bad; there are very real issues with racism and similar issues within our culture at large that are, naturally, reflected within the fandom. Sometimes it’s not benign and harmless to just let people enjoy things, and I do get that.
I’ve tried very hard to write sensitively about issues of race and ethnicity and I know I’ve fucked it up and many of my deepest-seated fears are that everyone else thinks so and nobody has the heart to tell me but there’s a secret blacklist out there and I’m on it.
But. I’ll be deleting that particular ask, as I’m not even sure it’s in response to anything I’ve actually said, so there’s no constructive discussion to be had, there.

Listen I know I’m an Old and Bad At Tumblr but it’s really hard to get in a good argument with somebody if you can’t tell what the fuck they’re talking about.
