ok i did it, i finally officially disenrolled from fidelis and joined independent health, because they’re the only ones who agreed, in public, right out on twitter, with no cagey maybes, that yes, reproductive health care is health care and is in fact covered on all of their plans, though of course weasel-words some stuff has deductibles and coverage varies by plan– but yes, reproductive health care including birth control is not treated as a separate area of coverage, they do not outsource the coverage to another company, they do include it in all of their plans.
they also emailed me about what’s in the plan, which i appreciated, so i could see it in writing.
let’s be real here, all the plans on my level are just about the same, but that’s how fidelis got me in the first place, they were listed at the top and i was like there’s no difference and then I found out they don’t consider the uterus a part of a human body, but rather as like, an extra add-on that Jesus would get mad if they touched, so like
ugh i’m so over it. anyway, though, a cookie for me for actually finishing doing it.
