I dunno how good an idea the bourbon was really, but it let me get off the cold medicine long enough to be coherent enough to comb out my badly-tangled hair and oil and rebraid it.
That’s the worst feeling, when your hair has become A Problem and you just don’t have the wherewithal to fix it. And here, I have no relatives who would comb it out for me. I washed it just as I was coming down with this hell-flu, and had the wherewithal to braid it, but I got tangles on the back of my head from rolling around in bed feverish, and I unbraided it to try to fix it and realized I couldn’t even hold my arms up that long. So I managed to rip the tangles apart into sections so I could braid it again, but it wasn’t good.
So I just spent an hour and a half brushing it, and got coconut oil through the somewhat-damaged parts at least, and it’s smooth enough that I can get a brush through the whole length of it (which is over 40 inches, which isn’t all that much in the grand scheme of people with long hair, but that’s longer than I can apparently take care of on my own), so I just braided it back up and hopefully by the time I gotta take it out to wash it, I’ll be better.
