I’m about halfway through Edge of Worlds and I’m just putting this out there, if there isn’t a bunch of River/Moon hatesex slash out there, there really oughta be
AHHHH there is one fic in which Moon and River are trapped together in a cave and it does not go there and I am so bummed.
I don’t know when I got old and jaded enough to want hatesex more than fluff but COME ON they have hated one another VIOLENTLY for like FIVE BOOKS and they’ve saved one another’s lives like a billionty times and Moon actually totally understands River’s terrible (self-inflicted, but regardless, terrible) social situation and they are two hot young male princesses (well, River’s biological caste precludes him from filling more than the dumb show of a princess role but clearly, he’s decorative) and I just want them to hatebang. Is that so wrong???
they had the Raksura equivalent of a mud-wrestling fight for the queens’ amusement in the first book
(ok it was more complicated than that but Pearl kept them in their groundling form for logistical reasons– queens can do that– and they rolled around like children in front of the whole court and Moon beat the shit out of River with his bare hands with no wings or claws even though they are actual dragons in revenge for River bullying Moon’s sweet little boyfriend [Raksura are generally sort of polyamorous so the existence of the boyfriend was not in the slightest the issue])
(also the sweet little boyfriend is approximately the best ever, but there exists fluffy Moon/Chime fic on AO3 and that is as it should be. It’s the only pairing anyone writes except for Moon/Jade, and that makes sense. It is also, by the way, canonical.)
I mean, the takeaway is, why isn’t everyone reading these books, but I mean, the main point I have is, why is nobody writing me filthy hatesex flying lizard people slash.
