that’s one of the few movies I’ve seen, too, for a really absurd reason: a long-term substitute teacher showed it to my junior-year high school english class. we told him that the school required parental permission to show an R-rated movie in class, because most of us weren’t 18, and he *didn’t believe us that that was a real thing* and showed it anyway without notifying anybody.
That’s… amazing. My mother went through pure hell to get to show her Spanish IV class Como Agua Para Chocolate, let me tell you.
The best/dumbest place i ever saw it was some godforsaken holiday when I tended bar at the airport. There was nothing on TV except that movie, and there was almost no one in the airport, but there was some kind of hideous delay, fog or somesuch, and I was stuck in a semi-deserted bar long after my shift should have been over, and there was just “Airplane” to keep me company, and let me tell you, that’s a terrible movie to watch in an airport but at least I wasn’t getting on a plane, just the parking shuttle.

Oh, good, Airplane! references are still valid at least among our generation – I was afraid I was going to prompt some Googling and nothing’s funny if you have to Google it. Also, I just wanted to say good luck; we’re all counting on you.
