Use these words: “I want to keep my town from becoming the next Flint.” You can also talk about regulatory oversight and enforcement of the Clean Water Act.
When they come back with “The states will take care of it,” you can use words like this: “The states get funding and direction from the EPA, and there are states that are too poor or under-regulated to be able to prevent major disasters. So we’re hurting our most vulnerable people if we cut back the EPA. I don’t want anywhere to be the next Flint.”
