So, I got this shirt from Torrid and it is a little bit too slim-fit through the biceps and through the hips– and of course all the sizes larger than that are already sold out, so: I’m gonna mod it! First I unpick the side seams all the way from the hem to the sleeve cuffs. Then I press out the seam allowance – lucky me! It’s flat-felled. Then draw out my pattern piece: it’s gonna be a gusset running from the elbow to the hem. This shirt is in a lightweight rayon twill so this rayon challis in black should match pretty well. Slippery, of course, so it needs a lot of pinning and a half-inch seam allowance. One side done and I can already tell it’s a great fit, so now I just need to sew up the other side, finish the seams, and there it is! The lightweight, rainbow plaid of my dreams.] (Your picture was not posted)
