LOL forever-- look what crossposting does to tag art!
So, non-Tumblr people, Tumblr just did yet another update-- their updates are a kind of performance art, where they do things that remove functionality from the site and sort of stand back and cackle while literally everyone flips their shit and promises to go elsewhere but doesn't.
Because they don't make the site for *us*, they make it for advertisers, who don't want what we do, they want us to be more market-to-able, like Facebook.
So anyway. This time they took away the ability to follow a set search for "tracked tags", and so if you are interested in a thing and subscribe to one of these things, it doesn't work anymore.
THat's how I get a lot of readers of my various fic updates and things, so-- that's a shame, writing a story about Bucky/Natasha and tagging it "bucky/natasha" no longer works to attract the BuckyNat people who are dying to read a thing.
I don't know how this improves the site, but surely it does. They're a business.
They also took comments completely off posts-- and like, it wasn't a great commenting system, you couldn't reply to it for example, and if you left more than one comment, it was traditional for the last comment to overwrite all previous ones. So it was pretty much incoherent.
But it was nice a little bit, because you could at least see someone's "my goldfish ran away :(" post and write "oh no im so sry!" (because comments also had to be super short), and feel like a human.
Now your options are either to reblog this, so it now appears on your dashboard, and append a stupid note, or to click "like" on it, which is sort of a dick move, or just not react at all.
So if your goldfish ran away and you wanted sympathy from your friends, good fucking luck, you get nothing, except maybe your post going viral because your friend's friends see it and think it's hilarious that someone bothered reblogging a post to say "oh no im so sry", and now your post about your traumatic life event is a humorous viral shitpost with a hundred thousand notes on it and a bunch of people reblogging it to say "lol" and tell irrelevant anecdotes.

Anyway.

You can see what I just did-- reblogged a thing of mine-- but then I wrote a little story in the tags, and oh my gosh. When it crossposts it truncates them and also rearranges them to be alphabetical.
It is hilarious word salad garbage. It's-- I don't even know.
My life.
My life.
I love it, and also really am in a phase where I don't feel things, and am genuinely on day 3 of a headache here, so-- by "love" I mean "am staring apathetically at computer screen while cat knocks shit off tables in the background".
It's like, it's poetry, guys.

Full of Grace chapter update, Chapter 9: Don’t Be Cruel

In which many things happen, James is revealed to be both more and less human than expected, and Steve Rogers gets a verified social media account and takes The Official Winter Soldier to the burn unit. 

“Shut your mouth, you’re prettier like that,” Nat said, off-camera, and he laughed, a genuine ducked-head wide-open laugh of real amusement, and turned his face away to fix his hair. “Now flex, just like we practiced.” Bless your heart, Nat, Lakeisha thought.

Oh heck! I hecked this up. 

It’s chapter 8, not chapter 9. 

I meant to edit it but I clicked the wrong thing so I’m reblogging it instead. 

I gotta admit a large part of what made this fic get written is that I wrote a bit where I pretended Bucky was doing an Ask Me Anything and I made myself giggle like a lunatic for like a week straight. So having Steve sending him Qs on this fictional not-any-real-site has been making me waste enormous amounts of time writing them because I am twelve and think it’s hilarious. (I only have some of what I’ve written in this chapter. Maybe I’ll do a bonus extras thing at some point, or more will get integrated into the story. we’ll see.)
