Also her cat Reno– the child, 1.5 yrs, was able to identify catnip growing in that pot among the weeds, and give that to the cat until he was stoned off his gourd. And some chickens and my first photo of this year’s Thanksgiving turkeys.

Thanks to the power of technology, there is finally a way to cross post from Tumblr to Livejournal and/or Dreamwidth.

HOW TO HOW DO

Get yourself a free account at IFTT (if this, then that) https://ifttt.com

Then go to this recipe: http://ift.tt/1hnMOl8 and activate it. You’ll need to connect your Tumblr account to IFTTT, as well as your email - I’m using Gmail so I connected my relevant email account.

Then, and this is how I do it, I set up my Dreamwidth account for the postings, because  I have DW crosspost all entries to LJ automatically.

In DW: Go to your account settings at http://ift.tt/1KtRNfZ, then select Mobile:

In the box, enter whatever email address you connected in IFTTT. For your pin, go crazy but note that DW doesn’t save capital letters in the pin.

Then string together your account name with your pint in the following form: username+pin@post.dreamwidth.org.

Now head back to your IFTTT recipe box:

And enter in that username+pin@post.dreamwidth.org into your address bar.

YOU’RE SET TO CROSSPOST.

A word of caution: This recipe will crosspost EVERYTHING on Tumblr, both your new content and  all your reblogs. You can turn off the automatic push in the recipe’s top right-hand corner:

Reblogging for the crossposting-for-tags

Oh I really like the tags idea but I just plain don’t understand it. Surely there’s got to be a place where you tell it your tag? The word “tag” appears in the body of the email, but I’m just not confident enough with what actual text I’m to replace. I’d have to disable the thing I wept blood to make work, and I just can’t face that, is what it boils down to.

I feel like I used to be smarter about these sorts of things. Either I’m getting timid in my advanced age, or I’m just really beaten-down at the moment. 

Sorry. I don’t think anyone actually reads my LJ or DW anyway, so they’re just going to have to put up with everything getting crossposted. I literally actually don’t think anyone’s left over there so it doesn’t matter. 

By the way. Anyone, I’m dragonlady7 on LJ and DW, and I do post things exclusively over there sometimes. I’m experimenting, still. (For the record: photo posts just paste any captions into the text, and only send over one photo; if you reblog, all prior comments are just mushed in as if you wrote all of them, with no demarcation whatsoever to indicate multiple authors. That’s my results so far.)

“You don’t think he’s capable of hurting you?” Nick asked, both eyebrows all the way up.

“I know that he is,” she snapped, annoyed. “Nick! Do you think I have lost my mind?”

“You’re feeding him,” Nick said, “sleeping with him, he’s living in your apartment, you’ve procured him weapons– of course I know about that, Natasha–”

“I bought them from one of your people,” Natasha said, exasperated. “If you did not know I would assume you were a life-model decoy and not the real Nick Fury at all!”

Nick tilted his head. “Fair,” he said.

“Anyway I bought that cool one for me,” she said. “I gave him my old one.”

“Of course you did,” Nick said, with a fond little eye-roll.
