I thought I had given Z my cold, but it winds up he gave me his instead and whatever I had before was nothing. I have a tight chest and sore throat and cough a lot. it's not so bad, except it also seems to make me really tired. I was up at 7 this morning, and got some writing done, broke through a minor sticking point (I realized i hate making decisions, but I knew that already, so i went ahead and made the decision) and made some progress, all with the cats' normal early-morning obnoxiousness swirling around me in a silvery-gray haze. It was good, it was a bit productive.
Z got up. He is working from home today. I was delighted. This meant I could take back deposit bottles I've needed to take back for 2 weeks now, and finally go grocery shopping. I put the coffee on while Z showered, and figured I'd drink coffee with him, discuss a few things, and then when he got down to business, I'd be off to the grocery store.
But then before the coffee had even finished percolating, I found my head heavy and my eyes dim. "You'll need a nap," Z said; he slept almost all of Saturday, when he had the same cold. "Don't fight it."
"All right," I said, "I'll drink my coffee cold." I went back to bed, and petted the cat, and thought about the next breakthrough bit of the story, and felt good that I'd made the right choice. All was well. I zonked out, figuring on maybe a half hour.
I woke up at noon to the sounds of Z microwaving my coffee for himself.
Dang it. Well, I have to get notes together for the new head of my old committee, and I have to get the last little bit of embroidery done on the quilt square I made for Dreadnought in Boston's derby quilt project, and I have to get this mung out of my lungs. But if I shop quickly I could still make it.
But no-- Z needs to go into the office after all, a fact about which he is horribly annoyed.

I will die with these bottles still in my kitchen.

I just want to go back to sleep.
