can I get a little of Column A and a little of Column B?

Last night after dinner Z went to have a nap. I also wanted to lie down, and not on the couch, but did not want to disturb him, nor did I want to sleep. I wanted to lie and read.
So I went to the office room and lay on the bed there, with the light on, reading.

Chita never lies in bed with us. She lay in my old bed, in the room where the new bed is now, for hours; she snuggled me every morning, and often at night. But the new bed, for some reason, she seems not to like. She just doesn't lie there.
So I have it in my head that she's not a bed/snuggles cat.

She came and played with my feet in the bed in the "office". After a while I zonked out.
I woke. It was 4 am. Chita was purring next to my waist. She'd been there, I dimly remembered, the whole night, either behind my knees or beside my hip.

She snuggled all morning as well, as I was waking up. No yowling, no prowling around, no loudly demanding I get up and feed her. Just purring and head-butts and face-rubs.

It was nice.

So it seems I have clear-cut choices when it comes to sleeping in my house: sleep in Ye Giante Newe Bedde with Z, or in Ye Comfy Olde Bedde with Chita.
Hmmmm....

But of the two of them, only one did all the dishes in the sink yesterday as well as making waffles with cheese and bacon and eggs for dinner.
And both are pretty fuzzy.
But only one purrs.

It's a tough call.
