tfw an author you admired in an old fandom to the point of having parts of one of their stories memorized
back in the old days before ao3 and before you could leave comments on things so you’ve had zero interactions with this person but know their work, ok
reads one of yours (in another fandom) on ao3 and leaves you a super awesome heartfelt comment

what do you even say it is probably rude to just comment back with a prolonged high-pitched squeaking noise and it is possibly weird to be like remember that thing you wrote in 2008 because i do i could quote it to you would you like that
Someone help me, find the video clip where Oscar Isaac talks about working with Jessica Lange and says all in one breath “within thirty seconds of meeting her I said I had such a crush on you I wrote your name in every font” because, uh.

(don’t tell me you don’t have an internal list of people who if they commented on one of your fics you Would Die, because I refuse to believe this isn’t a normal thing, but I’m not really a List person so it turns out that I actually don’t know who’s on the list until it Happens, but it has Happened actually more than once and it’s uh maze ing.)
