Latest Tumblr OUTRAGE

meh. It honestly doesn’t bother me. Tumblr’s always been shit for actual multi-person conversation, and it’s not like this new development makes it any worse.
Seems to me like most of the rage is about the superficial cosmetic look of things.
meh.
I didn’t care, but as I’m using the site, I’m noticing that I can no longer tell at a glance whether a post is original content, and I have an instinctive reaction to closely read original content from certain users. Since I can’t tell at a glance anymore, I scroll past things I actually want to read at the same pace as the endless reblogs.
It has made me realize that this site is vastly more chaff than wheat and I should either get xkit properly configured and postblock everything I’ve seen more than once, because the miniscule amount of new content is constantly drowning in repeats of the same thing over and over.
But mostly it’s made me realize I don’t actually get a lot of benefit from this site, so I should spend a whole lot less time on it.
So good for Tumblr; they made an update that points out how worthless the site mostly is. It’s weird that it’s a feature they’d choose to emphasize, but that was their choice.
