Made it in a bit after dark last night. Immediately began doing laundry. I left as the trucks from our camp left for the storage unit; we'd been warned that a big storm was rolling in within 2-4 hours, and had been trying our best to get everything into the trucks. I'd taken a few moments to scramble and get everyone's personal gear under a reasonably rainproof covering so that if the storm rolled in before the storage locker team returned, nobody's stuff would be ruined.
Z and I had taken separate cars, and I'd planned on ducking out a little earlier, getting home and getting unloaded so that I'd have the house in reasonable order before he rolled in. But it didn't happen. So we caravanned home instead, and stopped just offsite for dinner.
As we were pulling into the restaurant parking lot, it started raining. We'd just sent our friends off with two pickup trucks to load the camp's permanently-stored gear into the storage unit; one truck had no cap, the other had a canvas tarp over the top, which doesn't keep water out. We crossed our fingers for them for a moment; there's nowhere to get under cover, and if the camp gear was wet going into the storage locker, a goodly portion of it will be ruined. So we don't know how that went.
I'm exhausted. I was OK last night, but getting up in time to get to the rink at 8 this morning to pay my season dues and WFTDA insurance was brutal. I made a quick detour through a grocery store so we'd have something in the house to eat, like milk for the coffee.
Z had cleaned the kitchen, I did notice. He'd also fixed the stopped drain in the shower and cleaned the bathtub. I was overjoyed about this. However, he'd forgotten to empty the coffee grounds from the coffee maker, so it was moldy. Ew. Well, you can't have everything.
I'm waiting for my photos to download. The first disk had about 300, and that's done, but the second one had nearly 800, so that'll be a while. I can't stop eating, I'm hungry and dizzy and tired, and I need to sleep a whole lot more. So I'm going to go sleep.
