I promised pics and I actually deliver!
Jun. 27th, 2010 09:04 amPics! I got stuck at work yesterday, which sucked, but at least, in among the madness, I managed to get some of my backlog of photos uploaded. I'm missing the oldest ones, ironically, but the most recent were coincidentally still on the memory card I brought with pictures of the try-on of the wedding outfit, so I banged 'em up onto Flickr. I missed a few but it's better than nothing.
So, starting off:

The 18th-c outfit. I am holding the assembled petticoat, which does not yet have a hem or waistband, into place to show the color, which is why there's a bit that kind of just trails off.

From the back, in just petticoat. Since then I have trimmed it to approximately even and am probably going to machine-blind-hem it, if I can figure out how. (Of course I can't find my sewing machine owner's manual.) In the old days of course I'd hand-hem but as of now there's no way any of this project is getting hand-hemmed. Nothing for Pennsic is either.
So there's that-- I'm not all talk, now I'm photos too!
I also have the set up from my cousin's wedding.

My dad warming up the bagpipes. Yes, that's really my dad, and yes, that's the back of a bus, on the Long Island Expressway, running late.
I also love this shot of my oldest and youngest sisters (the married ones), waving candles during the first dance.

And a set from the wedding shower-- here's the whole reason I'm going through all this sewing! She really is awesome, despite my bitching.
