dragonlady7I sat and fiddled with the new machine, and sewed some scraps to other scraps, and looked around, and suddenly remembered! I had cut out and pinned and begun, but abandoned, gold lamé booty shorts-- Gram's machine kept skipping and tangling and screwing up, and I thought perhaps I needed a stretch or ballpoint needle for it, but never got around to getting one, and had resolved instead to hand-sew the booty shorts. They got packed away to work on in the sewing bag on numerous trips, wherein I thought I'd have more time to spend than I did (of course) hand-sewing. Duh. Anyway. Easy enough to find-- they're blindingly shiny.
Pulled them out. I had abandoned them in the first major step: sew the lining to the fashion fabric. (After which I would treat them as one.)
So I resumed that. And then I sewed the side seams. And then I sewed the crotch together. And then I put them on.
OMG GOLD LAMÉ BOOTY SHORTS.
I still need to do a little work-- I think I need to cut out a little bit on the outside of the thighs, to make the lower opening bigger-- I have enormous thighs after all-- and then I have to put a waistband onto them, somehow, some way. Hm. But I do have plenty of waistband elastic. And then I have to turn under the raw edges around the leg openings.
But that's it. And then I have gold lamé booty shorts.
