psyching up

dragonlady7Being more or less trapped in bed got me writing again, which was lovely. I love my pretend worlds. They're real enough to me and they make sense and the people are at least interesting, if not good. The pain all has narrative purpose, and the annoyances are likewise purposeful.
I'd post the scene I wrote last night and this morning, but it wouldn't make a ton of sense on its own.
I really need to sell a piece of writing. I gotta think that one through.

marthawells, has fallen on somewhat hard times as well, and has put some of her short stories up on her personal website with a tip jar. Oh my heavens, read them, and tip her, if you have any money. I haven't any, to my sorrow. Some are never-before-published. Some are reprints. All are wonderful. Many are set in Ile-Rien, the world I so love. Please give her money if you have any.
The Potter's Daughter: a non-spoilery prequel to The Element of Fire, featuring Kade Carrion. (Element is, by the way, available on her website as well, in full.)
Holy Places, a non-spoilery prequel to The Wizard Hunters, featuring Gilead and Ilias-- in fact, their first meeting, which is tantalizingly referred to in the trilogy. Makes me cry.
Those are the Ile-Rien ones. There are others, all linked to at the tops of the pages. I just thought I'd push them, since they're beautiful; if you have money, give her some, and if you haven't, they'll be a lovely distraction from not having any money.
OK, I'm going to go take a shower, to see how long I can stand without it being a problem. I have a four-hour shift tonight, and I am optimistic. Then I have a six-hour shift tomorrow, and after that, an eight-hour shift the day after, so we're going to find out little by little how well I can do. :/
