Aug. 1st, 2009 10:37 am@ work, leaving straight from here to go back to Pennsic! But I have some photos and hilarious videos of the first week, taken with the store's demo model Olympus Tough 6000, up on my Flickr page: http://www.flickr.com/photos/dragonlady7/
I'll have more from first week up later in the month, taken with my Canon SLR, including Nez's impromptu laundry session/shower under the leaky roof in the common area. I'll also have all second week's Wacky Hijinx (tm) to share. I'm really trying to do better at getting photos taken this year-- last year seemed fine, but then I really regretted not having pictures so much. So I've got to strike a balance between enjoying the moment and taking photos for later. This year, at least, thanks to the ruggedized loaner camera, at least I don't have to worry about getting caught out in the rain with a $900 digital camera that can't tolerate moisture. The Rebel stays in the tent and common area! The old film AE-1 can come up to the battlefield-- it probably won't tolerate a drenching, but it'll tolerate getting dripped on and shoved into a plastic Ziploc. Also its replacement value is more like $75 than $900, so that's OK.
