dragonlady7Oh yeah, I'm leaving for Illinois tomorrow.
I hit a snag with the dress-- had decided to use hooks and eyes to close the front. It takes a long long time to sew a hook on! It's really tricky. So it took me hours to sew on three hooks. I tried it on just to see how it worked. And... yeah. There's a gap and it just looks bad and I need to add a modesty panel and I might as well just lace the front since I know that works, and yeah, whatever. ARGH.
I am being disciplined, though. I am not going to do the rest of the finishing work until I've done the front fasteners, because if I do not want this dress to look ghetto and have sketchy repairs, I need to wait and not do the finishing work until I'm done with the fasteners so I can make my adjustments properly.
I might bring it and work on it anyway. But I will be wearing a blouse and a skirt, and a blazer I borrowed from Fiona that sort of fits. Hurrah. Done. Good enough.
