My back actually looks really red. :( I didn't realize I got that much exposure out there! Crappo. I didn't want a real sunburn, I just wanted a little touch of sun! I'm not into tanning, I just know that I'm going to be spending a lot of time outdoors this summer; if I get a few minutes here and there of sun, it adds up to not getting burned into insensibility the first time I go out in midsummer and get caught out without enough sunscreen or whatever. It's inevitable that it'll happen-- I won't realize the event is outside, or I'll bring a hat that turns out not to be effective, or I'll wear a pale-colored shirt and get burned through it (yes that happens to me), or it'll be raining and wash off my sunscreen and then the sun will come out, or it will be very cloudy and then the sun will come out, or whatever. Something always happens. If I'm pre-freckled, it's less awful.
(I did do this before Pennsic last year and it worked out fine, btw. I didn't get burnt at Pennsic.)
So, lesson learned: apparently the sun is strong even though it's barely April. Good to know!!
I am going to lie down in the back room for a bit and recuperate before practice.
