domestic bliss

Z: Arrays.
He's sitting on the couch, I'm on the footstool by the window. The cat is sitting in his lap licking herself.
Today I've reupholstered a chair and done the last few days' dishes (I find it much more rewarding when they pile up just a little and I can really get into doing them and have it make a big difference). I'm settling in a bit to the routine of being here. It's nice.
The garden is a bit behind, but the bulbs are coming up nicely-- I nearly have a daffodil blooming now, Chita and I have been watching out the picture window and there's a yellow bud-- and it's raining today so I can't really catch up anyway.
I've decided to "take it easy" this month in terms of roller derby, but all that means is that I'm going more often. I may have to re-evaluate this strategy. I am trying to exercise every single day this month, but today's planned bike ride is a bit hindered by the weather.
I have a big old post brewing on fat politics, but it's just not coming. So basically, what she said, only of course my personal situation and experience is nothing like that. Still I agree entirely: what I look like is a) not an indicator in any way of my health, bar actual visible bleeding etc., and b) really nobody's business, so it's quite annoying that it's apparently considered acceptable to judge me based on it.
Aw Chita had moved to the window, but just meowed and went back over to Z. "She needs some face time," I said. (Z has been obnoxiously using a lot of corporate jargon, sarcastically, lately-- earlier in the week he had to go in for a meeting for some "face time" with his project manager). Sure enough, Chita went over and forehead-bumped Z's chin before accepting a few pats and wandering off again.
Z's boss is in on the Chita-being-Z's-personal-assistant joke, to the point that Z was waiting for a phone call from him today and went for a shower, and I was near his phone and had decided that if it rang, I was going to answer it by meowing.
