dragonlady7stoopid thermmeter. last night i tried it orally several times and it never gave a reading of over 97. (96, 96.4, 96.8, 97.) So I tried it axially (under the arm-- never tried that before.) conventional wisdom holds that the readings come out a degree cold if you take it there, so I tried it. The first time it was like, 95 degrees. I was starting to wonder if i'd actually been dead for an hour or what. I was NOT trying it rectally.
I had the brainwave of pre-warming the thermometer, as during all these readings, the damn thing still felt cold against my skin when it beeped. (It's an absurd quick-read digital thing.) So I warmed it against my chest, and then tried again axially.
97.2.
Well, if you add a degree, that's plausible, I guess. Certainly means no fever. I haven't taken my own temp in a while so I don't know if I trend cold, or maybe the chills really are caused by being cold?
This morning I took my temperature again.
Axially, it's 100.5.
Orally, it's 100.
Who the fuck knows? All I know is, it's hotter than it was.
Apologies for the boring sick-blather; it's too early to wake Z up, but I can't sleep any more, but I also can't really get out of bed, so... pthbbt.
eta: Oooog. I decided to have a glass of milk and half a half a piece of toast so I wouldn't get an upset tummy from ibuprofin but now I feel really oogy. Waahh!!
Not to worry, I'll pass out again in like 20 minutes. I'm going on 2 consecutive hours awake, and that's the longest I've managed since yesterday evening.
