I didn't actually see the whole bout. So I can't do a coherent recap. To sum up, the Saucies led by varying amounts, as little as 1 or as much as about 15, and wound up winning by somewhere around 10 points, but I didn't see the final score and have heard several different reports as to what it was. 10x-9x, of some sort, where x is a digit between 2 and 6 in both cases. I don't know for sure.

I'll just share some photos, instead.
On Saturday night (Feb 2nd) the other two bouting teams in my league played each other. The Devil Dollies are the team we narrowly scraped by in January; the Suicidal Saucies had not yet skated this season. Last year the Saucies had a lossless season-- but they won the final bout of the season, a three-for-all, on points. The Dollies won the matchup, but not by enough of a point spread to take the evening, so the Saucies went home with the win even though the Dollies had outscored them during their 20-minute, single-period bout. So their rivalry is particularly bitter.
The photos have been posted on the scrapbook part of the website (taken from a gallery on Photobucket, so far), but I'm going to link directly to my favorites.

I wanted to write more of a recap type thing, and some of my take on the whole thing, but my knee hurts so bad right now, I almost gave up on life in the grocery store, and I'm just feeling really, really down, and unable to appreciate the beauty of rollerskating. So I leave y'all with beautiful photos of beautiful women playing a beautiful sport that I can't play right now, in the hopes that maybe you can understand why that's killing me.

Sorry to hear about your knees :(

Honestly, I think the Dollies could have won it on Saturday if our damn jammer wasn't in the box constantly. It's hard to score points when you don't have that opportunity. Needless to say, it's very frustrating and something we need to work on.

I played the best game I could, so I personally have no regrets. I know I left a few ladies hurtin'.

The pictures look great so far! I'm glad that I have a few good pictures to choose from to post on my MySpace, lol.

The amount of time y'all spent in the box shocked us, to be sure. That's not the team we skated against.

I think my knee will recover in relatively short order-- but there isn't time before March, I don't think, and I'm really upset about that. I wanted a good shot at making that squad, and even if I'm healed by then, I won't have time to get my conditioning back up.

But then, I don't know about the knee, it just hurts like a bitch right now.

The jammer in the box was definitely a big part of the problem Saturday, but you all played a great game. The intensity never let up, and the crowd loved it. It was also nice to see such a cleanly played game (I think almost all penalties were for carelessness/sloppiness, not intent - though that, too, has to be fixed!) The May rematch is going to be crazy!

I think, in all honesty, that similar to last year's bouts this year's teams are very evenly matched. Each team has strengths and weaknesses, and each team has good days. This season is only 2 games in, It could go anywhere. Every game is going to be exciting, and I doubt there will be a single blow-out. THe rivalries are a little bit of it, but what I see from everyone is just them wanting to play the best damn roller derby they can.

The Dollies were fierce, and from what I saw of the footage from January, so were the Knockouts. It's going to be a hell of a season! I could almost guarantee that the "Cup" will almost definitely be awarded on points, 'cuz I can't see any team being the definitive "winner". We are becoming one amazing league.

I actually skated last night for team practice. I didn't do any drills - just skated around the outside or inside while the team practiced, but OH! it felt so good! I totally understand your frustration, but it's no where near over!
