Yes, it works. Fabulous. I have uploaded over 40 photos to Flickr-- from the one linked, if you go <-- this way in the photostream, it's pictures of the gift-decorating competition with Z's family. If you go --> this way in the photostream, you get pictures of my trip to see my folks, although during the actual Christmas celebrations I was too busy and happy to take pictures. Then there are photos of the New Year's party I attended with Z's buddy Chris and his wife and friends.
That's probably as much of a holiday update as I will manage.
I've been so busy lately. It must mean that I'm all caught up on my housework and personal obligations, right? That's got to be it, right?
...
I haven't finished my Christmas shopping yet.
Yeah.
Nope.
Roller derby has eaten my fucking life. I was there for five hours last night. I'm fucking exhausted. And now I'm back at work, and the first thing waiting for me is a new dealer placing an initial order for... $500 worth of merchandise, when I have just confirmed that in every correspondence to her, I have been careful to explain that she needs to order a minimum of $1500 to establish an account. I am too fucking tired to be nice about it-- I sent her an email asking where the rest of the initial order was, and am going to call her once the sun is up in California.
Of course she's in fucking California.
Ugh.
So I've got a new lead on a new dealer sent to me by my sales manager and i'm looking at it like, "Yeah, this guy's probably just going to be a douchebag anyway so why should I bother?"
...
So yeah, I'm back from "vacation" and raring to go.
I left Z in bed. We got a new comforter, so he helpfully took the old one off the bed, folded it up, and left it at the foot of the bed, where I have to step over it to get out of the room. (He's on the side of the bed where he can just go directly to the door.) So I've barked my shins badly on the bedframe once, and this morning I caught the foot on the leg with the bad knee twice, reducing myself to incoherent sobs both times. My knee is very bad today, very sore.
WE HAVE A FUCKING LINEN CLOSET. UNUSED BEDDING CAN GO INTO THE FUCKING LINEN CLOSET.
But that's OK. I like tripping over shit in the dark. It's awesome. It's not like I put things away either, in the house-- I don't have the fucking time. At least I did laundry Christmas Eve. Which is part of the reason my knee is so bad-- going up and down the stairs and then standing around for hours made it swell and I've been struggling ever since to get it back to the way it was before then.
I will never be caught up on housework, unless I quit my job; Z has had a week off and done two loads of dishes and that's it. I spent about an hour cleaning yesterday but then I had to sit down to ice my knee, and ran out of time after that.
I just want to be whole and be able to put my clothes away. And my job is so stupid and meaningless. People are douchebags and our products are, while nice, probably extraneous to most people's lives. I'm just sick of it. I need a goddamn day to myself. It's all I really want in the world.
Maybe I'll call in... Friday? I don't know; they keep "needing" me for things around here. Friday I know we'll have people absent. Fuck.
I just want to quit my life for a little bit. Can I do that? I'll come back to all of it. I just need it to not exist for some time.
Yeah, happy new year, I'm glad the damn holidays are over but I still haven't fulfilled my holiday obligations so this is mostly just a bummer.
