an email from my mom
Dec. 12th, 2007 04:41 pmNames redacted out of Google-courtesy, but here's a verbatim email direct from my mother, the Spanish teacher at a rural central high school.
Suddenly, my mother is a cute little old lady. When did this happen?
I just had to share my tale. Today was recycling day and the dingbat 7th gr. English teacher came around with a little crew to collect the paper from the recycling box in each room. Mrs. [French teacher] was in with me, for tardy room, so she said, just take the box by my TV. Of course when she went in her room, a huge box with all her colored paper had been emptied- all the good stuff bequeathed by her buddy Mrs. [Recently-retired art teacher]. After some discussion, we ended up by the recycling dumpster with a ladder- and the 7th grade teacher, who was the only one wearing pants and under 40. So of course I ended up climbing in the dumpster and searching- we only retrieved about half the paper- though I looked and looked. I found out it is easier to climb a ladder into a dumpster than to climb out- I had to make a stack of the papers inside and climb up on them. But I only suffered a bloody paper cut. That Eng. teacher is a fool. anyway. poor Mrs. [French teacher]. And I sign myself, Grandma and dumpster diver!
