dragonlady7I woke up this morning and discovered that it had been snowing for a little while. Big fat flakes. The ground was coated, though not enough for the grass to be hidden.
So I spent the morning sitting inside shopping online for Christmas presents, and socks for myself, because I have to spend at least $50 bimonthly at sockdreams.com or else, uh, I have to make up a superstition to go there. Hmm. Or else the sock fairies will come and take me away. Yes, that's my excuse.
(Seriously, though-- Look at this! And this! And this! And this! Look! How could you not want this????!!!)
Anyway.
This afternoon I will do some sewing and hopefully finish those dang curtains. I'm really trying to get the bedroom curtains finished. I also want to make some frilly underpants to wear under my roller derby skirts. But I realized, I don't really have any cute roller derby skirts. Oops. I need some more of those. How hard can they be to make, if I can't find them??
I should make the grody old curtains from my kitchen window into a roller derby skirt. That would be funny.
I also want to make some garters, the kind that go around your leg. Lacy ones with satin bows. I have some spare satin ribbon left over-- I am a wuss and instead of making tabs for the curtains, out of folded-and-folded scraps from the curtain cloth, I actually just used lengths of satin ribbon. And I think I need thigh garters. I might make them fit over the tops of my kneepads, instead of using duct tape to hold the spare ends of Velcro down. This will require experimentation.
But I am going to have a persona this year, a costume, a whole look. I am going to be an inexplicable meld of the painted girl off the nose of a B-17, and the machine itself, and its crew. I am going to applique little gold bombs to my skirt hem or shirt chest, to indicate my successful "bombing runs" (bouts). I am going to wear frilly garters. I am going to be made up like a pin-up girl. And I am going to kick peoples' asses.
Mostly I just wanted to post to brag about the snow, though. It's beautiful! Maybe we'll have a real winter this year, a normal-ish one.
This does mean that the last-minute gardening I had been planning on doing is sort of, well, not going to happen now. Oh well.
