I hate when I want to give someone my money and then either they don't have what I want or won't give me what I want.

I paid $730 over a month ago to this protective-gear manufacturer, to get pads for 8 of my leaguemates, and the guy still hasn't gotten back to me to tell me how much the shipping will be or when I'll have the goods. Meanwhile girls are still falling on their shitty old pads, and they're hurting themselves, and now they're starting to wonder if I've just been procrastinating on placing the order or what, and also meanwhile, I am out over seven hundred fucking dollars, and the guy is like, Oh gimme a call I'll tell you what's up, and i'm like, I spend all fucking day on the fucking phone can you just tell me if you've shipped it or estimate how much it will cost me for shipping or what, it's not that hard, Jesus. I figured I could wait and have the girls reimburse me once I knew how much it would be but by now my credit card bill's come due and I won't be able to get their checks deposited in time to pay it.

UGH.

Sorry, just a rant.

The worst part is, there's nothing in this order for me. I don't need anything. I'm fine. I have a full set of perfectly functional gear. I'm just doing this for the others.
And it's not even like I've wound up doing them this huge favor, because now they've spent so long falling and hurting themselves on their old gear, they might have been better off just going to the sporting goods store and buying the cheaper lower-quality stuff available there.
UGH.

Oh well. That's what I get.

I might also mention that I left for practice yesterday morning at 7:45 am, stopped home briefly (long enough to take an ibuprofin but not long enough to change my shirt) after both practices around 1:15, and then went straight to the board meeting and stayed there until 4:30.
Oy. It's like having a second job.
No, I think it's more hours than I'd work at a second job...
Z grumbled that it was useless sitting through that, but I am glad I was there just to get more of a sense of perspective on the committees, and also to find out what's going on. I was worried that Tracey wasn't there-- I know she hasn't been well, but she'd been at practice that morning. However I'd heard her saying her sleeping patterns were crazy-fucked-up, so I assume she just couldn't make it through the day and crashed before the meeting. At least I hope that's all.
Red, remind me I have to talk to you.

Hey lady... sorry if I left you in any weird situation at the board meeting by not being there. Of course the first one I miss is the one that everyone comes to! Ha.

And yes, I thought I could manage to make it through, but I simply could not. I came home, and crashed. I don't even remember calling Sissy Fit to tell her not to pick me up... I see on my cell phone that Flo called me, and that we talked for a minute, but I don't remember it!

Oh well.

Sundays are hard days, man. They're just so hard. I still haven't recovered-- I spent the last two days being useless at work and frazzled and confused and disoriented. Four hours of practice, then an hour spent with my team eating and planning things, then I ran like hell to the board meeting, and oh my God, that was over 8 hours of derby. I can't do that!!!!

Well, I hope you feel better, anyway, and are getting better and more regular sleep!
